Hojicha is a speciality, toasted green tea from Japan. It is made from the leaf stalks which are obtained during the production of Sencha or Bancha. The toasted stalks turn woody brown in colour. These stalks produce a russet-toned liquor with nutty, savoury notes and a mild roasted character.
