About

Liverpool Tea Warehouse is a speciality tea shop located in the trendy Baltic Triangle area. The shop is close to The Baltic Fleet Pub, Sugar and Dice Board Game Café and the Nordic Church. It is only a short distance from Liverpool One and the Albert Dock (around a five-minute walk from the John Lewis car park and about ten to fifteen minutes' walk from the docks). Please see the map on the contact page.

The shop stocks over 200 finest quality loose leaf teas, fruit and herbal infusions and biodegradable tea temples. The range includes black, green, white, oolong, yellow, pu-erh and flowering teas alongside many herbal and fruit infusions including Rooibos, Honeybush and Mate. The vast selection on offer is sourced from numerous countries including India, Nepal, Sri Lanka, China, Japan, Vietnam, Korea, Taiwan, Kenya, Malawi, Rwanda, Brazil and South Africa.

The business is owned by Debbie Kelly and Mark Hensby. Debbie and Mark have always loved quality tea and had often talked about setting up a loose-leaf tea shop. They started talking about it seriously late in 2014 after Debbie had completed a MA in art history and was looking for a new direction in life.

In January 2017, after training with the UK Tea Academy, Debbie gained the Tea Sommelier qualification. The Academy is based in London and is directed by Jane Pettigrew, a world tea expert. Debbie plans to offer courses on loose-leaf tea in the near future.

Mark has other businesses in Liverpool, notably he is a director of St Luke's Bombed Out Church and Real Ale Events, and was the founding director of Liverpool Distillery which created Liverpool Gin.
