Our afternoon blend, as with our breakfast blend, contains rich Yunnan tea from China. In order to make a lighter version we have replaced the Assam in the breakfast tea with Keemun, Darjeeling and Ceylon. Liverpool’s Chinatown is the oldest in Europe and the city has the biggest Chinese Arch outside China. Chinese sailors, travelling on the Blue Funnel Line which would have been delivering tea and other goods to the port of Liverpool, settled in the city. This area would become Liverpool’s Chinatown. We always include Chinese teas in our Liverpool blends to reflect the city’s history.
